Camp Moomba is a free, overnight summer camp program for youth (6-17 yrs) living with and impacted by HIV! At Moomba, campers choose their challenge in activities like kayaking, arts and crafts, and archery, while connecting with their peers to challenge HIV stigma, and learning Indigenous teachings from Elder Val.
Moomba provides everything campers need for a week of fun, including high quality nursing care, all costs (including transportation) for youth living in BC, and a passionate team of staff and volunteers. This year, camp is taking place July 15 – 20. To participate, campers must be between 6 and 17, and be aware that someone in their close family is living with HIV.
Options Community Service
This is two societies merged to create Options Community Services Society (OCS). Surrey Community Services Society had been providing services in response to the needs of Surrey residents since 1969 and OPTIONS: Services to Communities Society had been building services in Surrey since 1971. The merger allowed the new organization to be even more responsive to the needs of a rapidly growing community.
During our early years, our two former agencies operated transition houses for abused women and their children, crisis lines, counselling services, youth shelters and transportation for seniors and the disabled. Our commitment to empowering individuals, supporting families and promoting community health has resulted in many new programs and partnerships over the past 48 years.
This non-profit registered charity providing social services primarily in Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley.
